Hi everyone,
The Fantasy Character Kit has moved from strength to strength since launching, which is fantastic to see. We hit some big milestones recently – four days in, and this project now has over 1,900 backers; and yesterday we filled all 30 producer slots at the highest tiers!
Today, we thought it would be fun to share some behind-the-scenes photos of how we're getting on with developing the book.
Book Samples
The samples we received from the printer look great, the matte finish really works well with the neutral tones and the gloss varnish on the title. These samples have a handful of pages printed on the inside, but are predominantly blank as the book is still being designed and written – we CANNOT WAIT to see the finished product! We will be receiving new samples of the limited edition covers later on in the project too, so watch this space.
Everything will be printed locally in the UK, like it was for our last project – our printers are based in the north of England. They're a really great team who take pride in their work, and it has been a pleasure working with them so far.
The spot varnish is so shiny on the matte cover!
The Fantasy Character Kit is 1.5x the size of The Game Master's Fantasy Toolkit (so far), and it has a really nice weight to it. This is definitely going to be a definitive character creation tool.
Packaging

If you have ordered a book from our website recently, then you may have received some of our new packaging. All our books now ship in triple-folded book wraps which are sturdy and firm, keep your books safe (we even tested them under the shower!), and are also recyclable. You'll know when your rewards arrive, as they'll be the ones with the Roll & Play Press stamp on them!

Stretch Goal Unlocked / NEW Pledge Level

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your continued support of The Fantasy Character Kit, it has been so encouraging to read all of your messages in the Comments cheering us on.
We have already hit our first stretch goal – EXTRA CONTENT! I was really hoping we would hit this goal, as it means The Fantasy Character Kit can grow from 140 pages to 168 pages, and we will be able to include an extra 2 pages of content for every character class. Having so many detailed options for each character archetype is going to help you to create inspiring characters and NPCs who feel like real people on the tabletop and in your stories.
I also wanted to take the time to announce a new pledge level – PARTY OF WARRIORS. We have had some queries about bulk orders, and this new level gives you 4 standard versions of the book at a discount (not to mention the saving on shipping). This is great if you want to give one to each member of your party as a gift, or if you want to split the cost four ways! If you need more than four books for your party, you will be able to add more copies to your pledge in the Add-On Store – a link to this store will be shared with you when the campaign ends.
We also have the PARTY OF HEROES pledge level, for parties or collectors who would like a set of 4 limited edition books!

The next stretch goal will allow our printers to set up an additional print run for a new limited edition cover option: the Warlock. This cover looks really cool and mysterious, and you're going to love it. I hope I get to share it with you and make it a reality!

Hi everyone,
Welcome aboard our new Kickstarter campaign for Roll & Play: The Fantasy Character Kit!
Wow, we have had an incredible response so far, thank you so much to everyone who has backed at the beginning of our campaign. We were fully funded in 48 minutes, and we're almost 200% funded within the first two hours. So far, 92% of our support is made up from backers who are returning from our previous project – thank you, we're so glad to see so many of you come back!
Now we're fully funded, the project will go ahead, and we can really get our teeth into some of the stretch goals that we have in store for the campaign. First on the list is bumping the book up to 168 pages, meaning we can have even more content for EVERY character class! It would be amazing to smash that goal and be able to make this book even bigger and even better for you all.
